Annual Charity Trip
Every year, in the early hours of a Ho Chi Minh City morning, donors and volunteers gather for Seam The World's Annual Charity Trip. Lead by the staff of Seam The World and the dedicated volunteers from Cacdemode Fashion Brand everybody works together to load the donations into a waiting bus. When the bus is packed everyone jumps onboard and together we venture off to a part of Vietnam that is often overlooked or forgotten about by the rest of the world.
Seam The World's Annual Charity Trip is rooted in the spirit of service and is empowered by the desire of working together to help enhance the quality of life for those who need it most. But the trip is about much more then just giving donations to those in need. The trip is an important experience that brings together people and from different parts of Vietnam (and the world) and directly shows them the power of working together to make a positive difference in people's lives. It is a trip that gives donor, volunteer, and receiver the chance to share a fun and meaningful experience.
As donors and volunteers, we are met by people who despite their immense hardships and struggles patiently and gratefully welcome us, we are met by people who have donated their time and when possible proudly show and share some of their culture with us. In past charity trips the roles of giver and receiver have been joyfully erased by the magic of dancing and play games together.
Seam The World holds their annual charity event in January, which is also close to Tet, which is the end of the Vietnamese lunar year and the most important holiday in Vietnam. We believe that the best way to start or end a year is by helping people. Helping people and being in an environment that one isn't use to is a very powerful way of learning about ourselves. Helping people inspires us to be better people, it teaches us humility, and gives us the gratitude to be thankful for what we have. Everyone can do something to help people, it is easier and more rewarding then you think. Imagine the world we can live in if we all decided to do what we can to help people.
