Seam The World believes that it is up to all of us to take care of the world. The recent pollution and air quality in Ho Chi Minh City reached unhealthy levels and generated news coverage in Vietnam and around the world. Environmental education is important for the future of Vietnam and for the world. Seam The World believes in a Green and Clean Vietnam. Let’s be classy, not trashy! Let’s work together to create more clean space by eliminating extra waste.
There are several simple things that we can do as individuals to cut down on the amount of trash that we produce. One of the easiest and best ways to take care of the environment is to cut down on the amount of plastic that we use. Reusing plastic bags or bringing your own cloth bag with you will make a big difference in the amount of plastic that is used (plastic bags and wrappings often burned which creates pollution) The other is to bring a reusable cup with you, plastic cups and the plastic lids, straws, and bags that go with it create lots of extra plastic that often ends up on the street.
Here is a video from the Green Days event that was organized by Clean Up Vietnam that Seam The World and other organizations joined on the 26th of August 2017. We divided up into teams and went on a “trash hunt” to see who could collect the most trash. The bags used were made from a special reusable material. Thank you L’Usine and Piu Piu for helping to support the event. To find out more about what you can do to keep Vietnam Clean, visit Clean Up Vietnam: https://www.facebook.com/cleanupvietnam/
